Researchers from ECU's Health and Wellness Institute were invited to attend the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Postdoctoral Reference Group Symposium.

The one day symposium, held in Canberra comprised of a series of panel discussions and workshops focusing on grant writing and key issues relating to NHRMC. Key issues for early career researchers were identified and discussed through an interactive panel format. The issues were: gender equity and diversity, addressing 'relative to opportunity', mentoring, the appropriateness of NHMRC schemes, and forward planning for career progression.

This was an excellent opportunity for Researchers to be involved in as well as giving them the opportunity to make a contribution to the functioning of NHMRC.
